The goal of the program is to give a systematic understanding of English law, to acquaint students with academic standards that are important both for further successful study at the programs of the University of London and for use in your professional activities.
The course is entirely in English, so your language level must be at least Intermediate. The course consists of 5 modules - each module is taught by a separate teacher. All our teachers are practicing lawyers with two degrees in law: Russian and English from the University of London -LLB UoL.
And, of course, an important goal of the course is intensive training in legal English. A feature of the course is that the study of legal English takes place conceptually in the learning process: students do not just get acquainted with the terminology, as in linguistic courses, but study the emergence and use of special concepts in the structure of English law, learn to understand their meaning, patterns and functioning in the system of general law, get acquainted with the practical application of these concepts in the system of English law.
On the course, you are already trying to practically use your English language and authentic materials that the teachers upload to the distance learning system, to which you receive a login and password, help you with this.
All classes are recorded and the recordings are available for you to view. This is a great practice both for understanding some difficult topics and for the language.
The course includes 40 contact hours and will be held on Saturdays online in the morning in two classes.
The cost of the course is 800 Euros, payment is possible on the basis of an invoice both in rubles and in euros.
At the end of each module, teachers conduct tests and give you grades that are important primarily for the listener himself, because at the end you can get a certificate indicating your participation in this course, but grades are not indicated.
